London City hit by delays and cancellations
London City Airport has been hit by a large number of delays and cancellations this morning due to heavy fog.
Aberdeen is also reporting weather-related delays.
Eurocontrol – which coordinates air traffic control across Europe – said there could be delays of up to five hours at London City. Airlines have also cancelled some services.
The Met Office has issued a severe weather warning for south-east England, East Anglia, and the East Midlands.
Heathrow said they had no delays caused by fog, while Gatwick said that the airport was ‘operating well’.
The Woolwich ferry service, which runs across the Thames in east London, has been suspended.
The Met Office said: "Widespread fog is affecting much of East Anglia, south east England and the East Midlands this morning with visibility reduced to 100 metres or less in places.
"The public should be aware that this will lead to difficult travelling conditions during this morning’s busy period.
"The fog should gradually lift and disperse during the morning."
