Loud bangs cause ‘gunfire’ panic at Cancun Airport
Tourists were sent fleeing from inside the international airport in Cancun after loud bangs were mistaken for gunshots. Flights were grounded for nearly three hours after reports of gunshots , the National Guard said.
It turned out a false alarm. Three signboards were inadvertently pushed over causing the loud bangs which led to the panic. Videos footage uploaded on social media showed travelers scrambling for cover and rushing out of the airport terminal.
