Lufthansa passengers to be hit by second strike
Lufthansa cabin crew will stage a second strike tomorrow, which will be more damaging than last Friday’s walk-out, said the union UFO.
It has not yet decided where and when industrial action will occur but the union said the strike will last for longer than the eight hours of industrial action on Friday and it will hit more airports.
UFO said it would give at least six hours notice of the strike.
Lufthansa was forced to cancel long-haul flights on Friday and Saturday, saying it had little possibility to prepare for the industrial action.
The union is demanding a 5% pay rise and a guarantee that Lufthansa will not outsource jobs and use more casual staff. Lufthansa said it was not planning to improve its offer of a 3.5% rise in exchange for longer working hours.
