Ride hailing app Lyft has launched a new loyalty program, offering points per dollar spend and a host of perks.

Lyft Rewards will begin rolling out in ‘various cities’ next month and Reward points can be managed within the Lyft app.

Loyalty member perks being touted including discounted rides and upgrades to Lyft Lux.

The company hasn’t disclosed yet how many points per dollar will be offered or redemption details.

Eligible riders able to start earning Rewards will receive an email notification from Lyft next month.

"Passengers want perks like ride upgrades, access to more experienced drivers, and double-points days — so we’ll continue to listen to rider feedback as we fine-tune the Lyft Rewards program," it said in a blog post.

Lyft already operates an existing loyalty scheme specifically for business customers.
