Machu Picchu affected by rock and mudslides
The Foreign and Commonwealth Office has warned of rock and mudslides en route to Machu Picchu, which could affect those hiking the ever-popular Inca Trail to the ancient ruins of Peru.
It updated its online advice to say that during the rainy season, land, rock and mudslides can cause disruption to walking routes in mountain and jungle areas, including the route to Machu Picchu.
Visitors are advised to monitor local media for updates on travel information before starting their journey.
