Majorca tops Flexibletrips sales chart for February
Demand for beach breaks is catching up with city breaks, according to dynamic packaging specialist Flexibletrips.
Spanish beach breaks occupied three of the top five places in the company’s February chart of top bookings on www.flexibletrips.com/trade, with Majorca, Costa del Sol and Costa Blanca in first, second and fifth places respectively.
Rome was the best selling city destination, outselling traditional favourites such as Prague and Barcelona to take third place in the top ten.
The full top ten selling destinations for February were:
1.Majorca
2. Costa del Sol
3. Rome
4. Prague
5.Costa Blanca
6.Barcelona
7.Paris
8.Tenerife
9.New York
10.Amsterdam
Head of worldwide sales Stephen Vaughan said: “These statistics and the growing trend for booking beach holidays as well as city breaks highlight that the benefits of dynamic packaging for both are being embraced by travel agents who are finding it a useful tool for a wide range of customer needs.
“Rome appears to have benefited most from the romantics who like to book city breaks for their Valentine sweethearts, outselling even Paris as the most traditional venue for those treating a loved one.
“We will continue to monitor booking patterns and share them with agents so they know what is hot at key times throughout the year.”
