Malaysia Airlines ordered to make MH370 documents public

Saturday, 01 Mar, 2017 0

Malaysia Airlines has been ordered to turn over documents relating to the disappearance of flight MH370 to passengers’ next of kin.

An appeals court ruling upheld an earlier decision forcing the airline to make the documents public.

The airline, along with the state department of civil aviation, the government and the Royal Malaysian Air Force had sought to keep the paperwork secret.

Appeals Judge Datuk Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat said there was ‘no compelling or substantive reason to disturb the previous order.’

The documents include 37 pages of investigators’ reports and internal communications.

The order stems from a lawsuit filed by 76 families alleging negligence and breach of duties for the disappearance itself and the investigation that followed.
