Man behind the TUI ‘smile’ to leave company
TUI Travel marketing chief and the creator of the company’s ‘smile’ rebrand, Michael Lambertz, is leaving the company "to pursue new professional challenges".
Lambertz has managed all TUI Group brands worldwide since 2000, including developing the World of TUI brand strategy and TUI ‘smile’ brand identity.
He is also chief marketing officer of TUI AG, which is in the process of negotiating a merging with TUI Travel.
In April, Erik Freimuth, a former MD of Vodafone Deutschland, was appointed group chief marketing officer.
TUI Travel chief executive Peter Long said: "Michael has created a valuable asset for our group in the form of "World of TUI".
"The TUI Smile is one of the best branding developments worldwide in the last 20 years. We are losing a proven expert and a highly engaged person
