Man blames Mum when rifle is found in his carry-on bag

Saturday, 18 Oct, 2018 0

A man was arrested at Baltimore Airport after a rifle was discovered in his carry-on, and immediately shifted the blame to his own mother.

Ryan Moore, 22, claimed he was unaware the firearm was there as his Mum packed his bag.

The collapsable rifle was confiscated after TSA screeners alerted police.

The .40 caliber rifle is the 20th gun discovered at BWI this year.

In 2017, 26 firearms were discovered at airport security screening.

The excuse of ‘forgetting’ to remove a handgun from a bag before travelling to the airport is the common explanation for hundreds of travellers every year, but is a little less believable for a rifle, albeit a collapsable one.

Moore, of Hagerstown, was charged with illegal possession of a firearm, violating airport security procedures and having a weapon in the airport.
