Man dies on flight after being restrained
An traveller on board an American Airlines flight has reportedly died after other passengers restrained him because he was causing a disruption. According to The Independent newspaper, William Lee was pronounced dead after being taken off the flight at New York’s Kennedy International Airport after flying from Los Angeles. The newspaper reports that 48-year-old Mr Lee stood up during the flight and “loudly demanded another beer”. He then became “very belligerent, loud and disruptive” after being told that he would not be served any more alcohol, pushing aside a member of the cabin staff. The man was then reportedly restrained by seven male passengers and, after being handcuffed was held on the floor until the plane landed; a spokesman for American Airlines is quoted as saying that he had heard the men were members of a rugby team. The cause of death has not yet been established, The Independent reports. Report by Tim Gillett, News From Abroad Ltd
