Man reportedly bit another passenger before dying on Aer Lingus flight
Police are investigating the death of a 24-year old on board an Aer Lingus flight bound for Dublin.
The pilot requested clearance to divert the flight after the man became ‘extremely violent’ on the two-hour journey from Lisbon.
RTE News reported that he bit another passenger before being restrained and falling unconscious.
The flight was diverted to Cork and the man was pronounced dead on board the airplane.
The flight’s 168 passengers and six crew members were interviewed by police.
A woman, who was thought to have been with the man who died, has been arrested, reports Irish broadcast website, RTE. She was detained at Cork Airport at 11pm under the Drug Trafficking Act.
