Man U legends plan to open hotels across Europe and Asia
Former Manchester United players Ryan Giggs and Gary Neville are planning to open up to 25 football-themed hotels across Europe and Asia.
The pair have teamed up with Singapore billionaire Peter Lim to expand their Hotel Football brand, which has one hotel in Manchester.
Lim is behind Rowsley, the Singapore property business which owns 75% of Hotel Football as well as Valencia football club.
According to the FT, the company is in talks with potential business partners about expanding the hotel and Cafe Football business, which is fronted by Neville and Giggs.
"We’re looking at 5,000 rooms in the next 10 years," Neville told the FT. Each hotel would have about 200 rooms, he said.
In Europe, the company will look to open hotels in cities ‘with a passion for football’ and internationally-renowned clubs.
The former footballers are in talks with a potential partner in India and are also looking at opening hotels in China, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia.~
