Managers benefit from continued training
A series of masterclasses targeted at middle managers in travel and tourism have got off to a good start.
Organised by professional mentoring and coaching company, Shine, the materclasses cover issues such as coping with stress, achieving a good work/life balance and developing better relationships with colleagues.
Gaby Marcon from Shine said: “The masterclasses will be of value to all those individuals, especially those is middle management that believe they need to invest in their continued professional development as they can no longer rely on their initial training or qualifications to carry them through employment.”
She told TravelMole that the first event, held on January 25 and entitled “Developing confidence and credibility” was “hugely successful in terms of delivering thought provoking ideas and being inspirational.”
She said that some companies are now buying packages of three or more masterclasses from the series of ten that will be held on the last Tuesday of every month over the course of the year.
The classes are co-ordinated by Hoda Lacey, an associate of Shine who develops performance development solutions for organisations. Commenting on the January event, she told TravelMole: “In an environment of informality and confidentiality, the attendees discussed their perceptions of confidence and what gave some people that indefinable “something” which promoted success.
“The participants’ positive response and keen observations contributed to a lively, thought provoking, and frequently humorous evening.”
Masterclasses are held at The Berners Hotel in London from 6.30pm to 8.30pm. They cost £45 each plus VAT and are discounted if you buy three or more at once. For details email [email protected] or call 020 8371 8540.
