Mantra Group names first VP of acquisitions for Asia

Thursday, 22 Jan, 2016 0
Australia based Mantra Group has appointed Andrew Turner to the newly created role of vice president acquisitions, Asia.

Turner will start work from next month and will be based in Mantra’s new regional office in Singapore.

He is an experienced hotelier who previously served as executive vice president, business development for SilverNeedle Hospitality, and prior to that, CEO of Mirvac Hotels and Resorts.

"Andrew has a deep understanding of the Australian, New Zealand, and – most importantly for Mantra Group – the South East Asian accommodation markets and hotel investment landscapes. His particular expertise in strata title hotel structures and operations, positions Andrew well to leverage our capabilities in this growing model in Asia and to spearhead our expansion mandate," said Michael Moret-Lalli, director of acquisitions.

"This growth is attributable to Mantra Group’s surging profile and dominant positioning as a hotel operator of choice.  The opening of our Singapore office will be central to our efforts to capitalize on expansion opportunities in the region, and I am very excited to welcome Andrew to the team ahead of what promises to be a dynamic year for the business,"

Turner is currently a board member of the National Board of the Australian Association of Accommodation, and is a recipient of the Hotelier of the Year award.
