Marriott adding two Moxy hotels in New York

Marriott is adding two more Moxy Hotels in New York.

The 298-room new-build Moxy Downtown, located off Broadway will be first to open this summer followed by the Moxy Chelsea, which is scheduled to open by the end of the year.

They join the existing Moxy Times Square which opened in the city last year.

Moxy Downtown will feature a dramatic 22-feet atrium lobby with a large LED Wall, which serves as a virtual window into the hotel’s third floor ‘play space.’

The Moxy Chelsea is dubbed a micro-room, macro-amenity hotel by Marriott, featuring an industrial facade and soaring greenhouse-style atrium.

Featuring more of the brand’s signature edgy lifestyle elements, the Moxy Chelsea is topped off with a glass-enclosed rooftop bar providing views of the Empire State Building and has retractable windows which can transform it into an alfresco veranda.

"Moxy is designed to facilitate authentic experiences and touchpoints for the modern traveler, which means no two hotels are alike – they take on the personality and vibe of their surrounding neighborhoods," said Toni Stoeckl, Marriott’s global brand leader of distinctive select service brands.

"New York City encapsulates everything Moxy is about, and we’re really excited now to be able to offer a Moxy in the city for whatever type of experience Moxy’s fun-hunting travelers are looking for."
