Marriott relaunches trade site
Marriott has relaunched its trade website in a bid to boost bookings through agents.
The hotel group introduced a number of new features on the back of focus groups and meetings with members of its preferred travel agency programme.
These features include online access to commission statements and the ability to register to receive commission payments via direct deposit – currently only available to agents in the US, but soon to be rolled out worldwide.
Agents signed up to Marriott’s preferred scheme get a commission of 10% on all bookings. Marriott’s new trade web address is www.marriott.com/travelagents.
Vice president for global sales, Fred Miller said: “Our goal is to help agents improve their profitability, grow their knowledge of the product, enhance their selling skills and give them a competitive edge by providing them with tools to better serve their clients and manage their business.”
