Martha Lane Fox “going to be OK”
Martha Lane Fox, founder of lastminute.com, has reportedly been airlifted back to the UK after suffering multiple injuries in a car crash in Morocco.
As reported by News From Abroad, the 31-year-old businesswoman was involved in the crash on Sunday evening, near the resort town of Essaouira, near Marrakesh. She is now understood to have suffered six fractures, to her pelvis, shoulder and neck.
The Times reports that Lane Fox’s injuries were so serious that two specialist doctors from the Moroccan capital Rabat were flown in to assess her situation, and that she was then airlifted to a hospital in the city where she was operated on throughout Sunday night.
Her brother, Henry, is quoted as saying: “She is not going to be affected for the rest of her life because of an accident that happened in Morocco. She’s going to be OK.”
