MAS back to Darwin
Malaysia Airlines has reinstated the Kuala Lumpur-Darwin route it closed in 2002 to provide passengers, particularly those travelling from the UK, easier access to Australia’s Northern Territory.
From November 1 the airline’s double daily A380 service from Heathrow to Kuala Lumpur will connect to Darwin.
Between Kuala Lumpur and Darwin, Malaysia’s national carrier will operate five times weekly. Flight time is around 4.5 hours.
In another boost for the Northern Territory, Air Asia returned to Darwin on July 1 with a Bali service.
The service will be operated by an Airbus A320 aircraft and will run four times a week, supplementing the existing Jetstar services from Darwin to Bali.
