Matamonoa Island Resort Fiji doing just fine thank you!
Jill Palise, Executive Director of Sales/Marketing Worldwide for Matamanoa Island Resort, which was a top 3 finalist in the South Pacific in the HotelClub Awards for Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Islands in 2006 told The Mole today that Matamanoa Island Resort had a great Christmas and New Year with 85% occupancy for December which is 4% lower than December 2005, but bearing in mind everything that has happened, a great performance.
She added that they are holding forward bookings of 82.7% for January and 79.7% for February 2007 which is on par with those same months in 2005, with bookings still coming in strong.

Jill told The Mole, “Future business for Matamanoa is very healthy indeed, with forward bookings from all around the world, with nothing much having changed with timing, with guests still booking early for Matamanoa.”
Jill also said, “Australians and Kiwis are still travelling to Matamanoa in big numbers and cancellations have really been minimal from these markets, with as of today, we have received 140 room nights cancel from Australia and 56 room nights cancel from NZ.” “We have received though 172 room nights cancel from Europe and this has been our biggest cancellation market as it comprises almost 50% of our total overall market.” She added, “Interestingly from the USA and Canada we have had only 25 room nights cancel.”
Regarding special offers Jill said, “We have not offered any specials in the market place, because we know that our clients and agents are aware that we offer excellent value for money year round”.
The Mole will be visiting Matamonoa next week on a whistle stop tour of Fiji’s leading resorts and TravelMole partners and will bring you first hand news, information and also possibly The Mole will have a chat with a few Aussies and Kiwis holidaying in Matamanoa right now!
So watch out for Travel Mole next week and also our Special TravelMole “live and on location in Fiji” Editions.
