Mauritius drops pre-arrival testing
Mauritius has lifted the requirement for all incoming visitors to present a negative PCR test.
The Ministry of Health and Wellness scrapped the requirement effective 12 March 2022.
Previously, fully vaccinated arrivals had to present a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of departure.
It makes it much easier for business and leisure travellers to visit and has been applauded by the travel and hospitality industry in Mauritius.
Arvind Bundhun, Director of Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority, said: “We are delighted that the Ministry of Health and Wellness has reviewed the protocol for visitors to Mauritius.”
“It makes travelling to Mauritius far easier and more streamlined. We expect a further boost to tourism numbers.”
Currently, 90% of Mauritius’ adult population is fully vaccinated and the nationwide booster dose campaign is in full swing.
