Melia announces new hotels in Vietnam, Thailand
Melia has signed three new hotels in Southeast Asia, adding to its footprint in Vietnam as well as on the Thai island of Phuket.
It takes the company’s Asia portfolio to 51 with all slated to be fully operational by 2022.
Melia has a strong presence in Vietnam with 10 properties open or in the development pipeline.
It is growing that further with Melia Hoi An and Melia Phu Quoc.
Melia Hoi An will be sited in the centre of Hoi An’s UNESCO World Heritage Old Town featuring 150 rooms.
Amenities include a swimming pool, fitness centre and spa, multiple dining outlets and meeting space.
Melia Phu Quoc will be positioned right next to the existing Sol Beach House Phu Quoc, just 10 minutes from the island’s airport.
It will have 380 luxury rooms, a beach club and banqueting facilities.
Melia is adding a second location on Thailand’s most popular island destination with Melia Phuket Karon.
It is slated to have 224 keys in a contemporary design, as well as extensive resort facilities such as a beach club, two swimming pools, spa and fitness centre.
