Merlin Travel Group member bags bumper monthly commission
A Merlin Travel Group member is celebrating his highest commission payment for a single month’s departures of £41,432.
Shehryar Awan, a longhaul luxury specialist whose company Exquisite Escapes is a part of Merlin Travel Group, has seen an upturn in bookings from October – December 21 to his key destinations of Dubai and the Indian Ocean, with gross commission for the quarter exceeding £55,000.
His December commission alone is a bumper £41,432which is for bookings that travelled in the month of December.
Shehryar said "I’m extremely proud to have achieved this colossal figure for just one month of departures. My support has been fantastic".
Merlin Travel Group Operations and Product Manager Garry Butcher said "Shehryar has worked incredibly hard since he became a member of Merlin Travel Group barely two years ago."
Shehryar began his travel agent career with Independent Travel Experts (ITE) and moved to Merlin Travel Group in 2020.
"We’ve seen a change to booking patterns and lead times dropping to 6-8 weeks in many cases, even for high value bookings. We think this reflects the consumer waiting until they feel confident that their holiday has a good chance of going ahead and we allow as much flexibility as possible for our members’ customers."
Merlin Travel Group joined Protected Trust Services in August 2019 and are based in Glasgow with 38 members throughout the UK, comprising specialist operators, homeworkers, and retail.
During the pandemic, Merlin Travel Group has grown from eight members to 38 members.
