Million dollar birthday gift for Orion

Saturday, 08 Feb, 2007 0

Orion Expedition Cruises Marketing Manager Karen Wiseman says that the boutique, luxury expedition cruise company, took record bookings on Monday, with sales exceeding more than A$1m (US$776,653) on what she described as the company’s “busiest single day ever”.

Karen added that the busiest day came about as a result of Orion’s “second anniversary sale” which is taking place to mark the arrival of the 4,000gt luxury expedition ship Orion in Sydney Harbour on April 2, 2005.

Karen said that a double-page colour advertorial in The Australian newspaper last weekend highlighting the company’s Kimberley, Papua New Guinea/Melanesia, Tasmania and Antarctic itineraries had also had ‘a significant impact’ on Monday’s sales, adding that details of the Orion’s proposed voyages around New Zealand’s South Island in November 2008 are being finalised.
