Monarch Travel Group has appointed Simon Garrido head of trade sales with responsibility for the group’s trade distribution strategy across all brands and channels.

Garrido, who was previously sales manager, will also oversee the line management of the field-based sales team.

Sales director Gary Anslow said: "Simon has made a valuable contribution to developing successful commercial partnerships with our trade partners in the last few years.

"This is an exciting time for the group as we complete a business transformation and I’m confident that Simon’s drive and experience in his new role will ensure the success of our distribution strategy."

Monarch Travel Group has not had a head of trade sales since 2009, and this is the first time the role has covered all brands, including Cosmos, somewhere2stay, Avro, Cosmos Coach Tours, Cosmos Tours and Cruises and Avalon Waterways.
