Monarch to reactivate Gatwick-Murcia route

Sunday, 07 Dec, 2006 0

Monarch is to start a Gatwick-Murcia service – a route vacated by British Airways a year ago.

Daily flights will run from May 3 with tickets on sale from today with a special £1 deal for 1,000 seats.

Regular prices lead-in at £36.99 one way (£63.99 return) including taxes and charges.

Monarch scheduled services managing director Tim Jeans said: “There has been huge customer demand for Monarch to launch a London to Murcia service and we are delighted to be able to respond to this.

“Since launching services to Murcia from Birmingham in April this year we have carried over 45,000 passengers to the Costa Calida and are confident that the addition of the route from Gatwick will be another huge success for Monarch and a popular year round destination for our customers in the south-east.”

Monarch runs scheduled services from Gatwick to Alicante, Faro, Granada, Ibiza, Lanzarote, Lisbon, Malaga and Tenerife. The new service brings Monarch’s scheduled network to 42 routes.
