More options for Aussies with Air Tahiti Nui
Air Tahiti Nui, the international airline of Tahiti and Her Islands, will offer a fourth weekly departure from Australia to Tahiti from late October, providing more options for the growing number of Australian visitors to the destination.
Two flights will be nonstop from Sydney to Papeete, departing every Thursday and Saturday morning, and two will be via Auckland every Friday and Monday, in partnership with Qantas.
“July this year marks the second anniversary of our flights from Sydney to Tahiti, and in that period Australians have embraced the destination,” said Craig Lee, Regional Director Australia for Air Tahiti Nui.
“Tahiti is one of the most tranquil and idyllic destinations on earth, and continues to be a major drawcard for honeymooners and couples seeking a romantic getaway ,” said Mr Lee.
“But increasingly, Tahiti is also attracting other key market segments, from surfing enthusiasts to cruise passengers,” he said. “There is also growing awareness of the attractions offered in the outer islands of Tahiti, which stretch well beyond the gateway of Papeete.”
Tahiti is also attracting a growing number of stopover passengers, flying between Australia, the USA and Europe, with Air Tahiti Nui offering flights from Papeete to destinations including Los Angeles, New York and Paris.
Air Tahiti Nui’s nonstop flights between Australia and Tahiti are operated by three-class Airbus A340-300 aircraft, and take just seven hours from Sydney.
The airline has won multiple awards, including the title of Best Pacific Airline for the past four years in the international Skytrax awards for airline excellence.
A major factor in the awards is the carrier’s cabin service, which combines traditional, understated Tahitian hospitality with excellent catering and personal video screens for all passengers.
