MORE TOURISTS DISCOVER THE BEST OF ESPERANCE

Tuesday, 29 Jul, 2008 0

Esperance’s natural beauty and unique holiday appeal attracted more visitors last year, with tourism jumping by 23%.

Statistics released at the end of June 2008 by Tourism Western Australia showed more visitors travelled to Esperance in the past 12 months for holiday and leisure than to any other region in the state.

Bookings at the Esperance Visitor Centre also went up by more than 50%.

Located on the south-east coast of Western Australia, Esperance is the gateway to more than 110 islands, hundreds of inlets and several national parks.

Jac Eerbeek, CEO of Australia’s Golden Outback said the unique cultural heritage and natural splendour of the region were just some of its many drawcards.

“There are many good reasons why more and more visitors are coming to the area,” Mr Eerbeek said.

“Whether its white sandy beaches and crystal clear waters to soothe the soul or bushland adventure and wildflower beauty to entertain, holiday-makers can find what they are looking for in Esperance.

“Where else can you search for sea dragons in the morning, view space junk in the afternoon, then enjoy a spectacular sunset from your very own island hut?”

Information on self-drive tours or holiday packages are available from Australia’s Golden Outback www.australiasgoldenoutback.com or call the WA Visitor Centre on 1800 812 808.
