MSC sends second ship to Southampton
MSC Cruises will operate a second ship out of Southhampton for four seven-night cruises in September and October 2014.
MSC Magnifica, which will join MSC Opera in Southampton, will visit some of the most famous ports in Northern Europe – Zeebrugge (for Bruges), Amsterdam, Hamburg and Le Havre.
Oliviero Morelli, MSC Cruises product and operations director, said: "MSC continues demonstrating its commitment to the British market by bringing a second and bigger ship to the English shores for the very first time.
"In addition to MSC Opera already based in Southampton during the summer 2014, MSC Magnifica is providing additional capacity to a market that has considerably grown in the recent years."
The 95,128 ton vessel has a maximum capacity of 2,518 guests and boasts five restaurants, 17 bars, a 4D cinema as well as shops, a casino, and a disco and the 1,240-seat Royal theatre.
