Mumbai new cruise terminal inaugurated
The Mumbai International Cruise Terminal (MICT) is now officially open for business.
It began operations earlier this year but has now been inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi.
It spans 415,000 sq. feet covering four levels and can accommodate about one million cruisers annually.
The terminal has capacity for up to five small to medium sized ships.
It features dozens of check-in counters, immigration desks, and parking space for over 300 vehicles.
“The maritime history of Mumbai is rich and an integral part of our civilization. As a coastal hub, it has served the nation handsomely with its bustling coastal business,” said Union Minister of Ports and Shipping.
The terminal development was a key project under India’s ‘Cruise Bharat Mission’ to modernise cruise infrastructure and promote premium cruising.
