MyTravel teams up with Comtec

MyTravel is updating its agency management and selling systems in a move to help the operator sell in the lates market.

MyTravel is installing Comtec’s agency management system, TravelCat, and its agency selling system, EasySell in its call centres this month. The rest of the company, including 648 retail shops will go live by Spring 2003.

A statement from Comtec said: “The decision to take both systems means bookings made through EasySell will automatically pass to TravelCat, significantly reducing administration times by removing the need for re-keying reservations data between systems”.

MyTravel managing director of distribution and charter tour operating, Steve Endacott said: “TravelCat and EasySell have a proven track record of success. By allowing all our availability to be summarised in an easily accessible format, we expect this latest technology to give us a strong commercial advantage in the price-conscious early booking market and improve flexibility as we enter the lates market”.

Mr Endacott added that MyTravel intended to work with Comtec on more projects in the future.
