Nardi case adjourned until August
ABTA’s former head of legal affairs Riccardo Nardi has made a second appearance in court following his arrest on alleged multiple fraud charges against the association.
He and his wife Samantha appeared before Horseferry Road magistrates court in London.
The case against the couple, both aged 37 and of Pulloxhill, Bedford, was adjourned until 10 August when they are due to be committed to the Crown Court. Both are on conditional bail.
No charges were read to the court with prosecutor Nicholas Mesure merely saying the case involved a “large number of charges” amounting to “losses in excess of £1 million”.
Nardi has claimed his children have been “hounded” since he was arrested and charged. Speaking outside Horseferry Road magistrates court, Nardi said his main priority has been to protect his family: “It is impossible for me to speak about the case. All I can say is that our priority is the children,” he said.
“They have been hounded by some reporters and in some cases chased up our driveway. I cannot say how we intend to proceed with the case but there are things I may say after all this is over.”
