‘Nervous’ flyer tried to open exit door on Ryanair flight
A nervous flyer on a Ryanair flight, who had drunk beer and vodka to calm his nerves, tried to open the exit door after mistaking it for the toilet.
Tomasz Mucha was on his first ever flight on July 11 from Krakow to Dublin when he tried to open the rear door of the Boeing 737.
According to a report in the Irish Independent, Dublin District Court heard that although Mucha had been able to get the door handle up, the air pressure stopped the door from opening.
Cabin staff immediately returned him to his seat and he was arrested upon arrival in Ireland.
He was fined €200 after pleading guilty to being intoxicated on an aircraft and using threatening, abusive or insulting behaviour.
