New environmental director at Apex
Edinburgh-based Apex Hotels has promoted Jo Springford to environmental director as part of its focus on green initiatives.
The role will be to monitor and reduce consumption levels and convert environmental efforts into cost-reduction and revenue generating opportunities.
Springford will also be responsible for promoting the Apex corporate and social responsibilities mandate and maximising public relations opportunities.
Her first objective is to review all the hotels’ consumption levels and investigate and implement new technology or practices to reduce levels utility costs.
The group currently owns and operates five properties including the Apex City and Apex International in Edinburgh’s Grassmarket, the Apex European in Edinburgh’s West End and the Apex City Quay Hotel & Spa in Dundee.
A fifth hotel opened in November 2005 on Seething Lane in the City of London, close to Tower Bridge.
