A former Law Society director is to become chief executive of the Guild of Travel Management Companies.
Anne Godfrey will succeed Philip Carlisle when he retires at the end of the year.
She will move to the GTMC from The Law Society where she was director of law society services.
Godfrey will take up the position on October 1 and work alongside Carlisle until the end of the year when he retires after 13 years.
She will attend the first GTMC domestic conference, which takes place in London on October 7.
Godfrey was previously commercial director at the CBI for six years. Her earlier career in professional publishing included roles in sales, marketing and business development.
GTMC chairman Maurice Veronique said: “Anne was the outstanding candidate from 134 applications for the position.
“Her strong CV, past achievements working with membership organisations, her intellect and personality made it easy for the interviewing panel to make a unanimous decision that she was the right person for the job.”
Godfrey said: “I am delighted to be joining the GTMC at such a challenging and exciting time for the business travel industry. I look forward to working with the board, members and partners to ensure that the GTMC is viewed as a modern, relevant and value for money membership body.
