New Kansas attraction ‘wishing on a star’

Saturday, 03 Oct, 2006 0

Plans are going ahead for a Wizard of Oz-themed tower in Kansas that will dwarf the Gateway Arch in St. Louis.

Developer Tom Overby plans a stand-alone attraction near Kansas City. The 650-foot tower would have a rotating restaurant and observation deck.

The base would include a farm and virtual reality theatre depicting the tornado that swept Dorothy and Toto to Oz in the famous book.

Mr Overby, who is enlisting private investors for the $200 million project, described it as “good, clean, wholesome family fun.”
