New Liverpool-Dublin ferry launch
A new Liverpool–based company is poised to launch a low cost fast-ferry service to Ireland.
Irish Sea Express.com is to operate daily crossings from Liverpool to Dublin from April 27 with one-way fares booked online starting at £20 or £105 for a car and driver. A special day return rate is available for £35.
A service fee of £2 per foot passenger or £8 per vehicle is charged for bookings made via travel agents, on the telephone or by post.
The company describes its service as “low cost, high quality” with full details due to emerge at a formal launch on the River Mersey on Monday.
The firm’s newly refurbished catamaran ‘Sea Express 1’ will operate the route, taking four hours to make the journey.
Bookings are being taken on the company’s website at www.irishseaexpress.com.
