New PR manager at Voyages
Voyages Hotels and Resorts has announced the appointment of former Travel Weekly Editor Louise Longman as PR Manager.
GPT owned Voyage has had a a challenging couple of years with scandles in the Red Centre, their fair share of disasters including cyclones and flooding, management and staff redundancies and ultimately the sudden departure of very highly thought of industry leader CEO Grant Hunt.
Louis is described as joining Voyages at an interesting time, one when analysts say the pressure is really on from GPT to turn the Voyages properties into profitaiblity and improve the Company’s reputation in particular with the Aussie trade.
Although recently arrived from Reed in the UK, Louise is highly respected in the world of travel trade media in Australia and has extensive media and travel industry experience having been the launch editor of trade publication Travel Weekly in Australia for the past year and news editor of Travel Weekly in the UK for four and a half years.
Louise has also written freelance travel articles for The Telegraph, The Guardian and The Independent.
In her new role as PR Manager Louise will act as the main point of contact for Voyages for all media and work to raise awareness of Voyages’ individual properties, while also continuing to promote Voyages’ commitment to environmentally-sound business practices.
Nick Baker, Voyages’ Executive General Manager Sales and Marketing, said, “Louise’s knowledge of the travel industry and her understanding of the media, make her an ideal candidate for the role and she is joining Voyages at an exciting time.”
The Mole wishes Louise well in this challenging role.
