Former Qatar Airways key account manager Benjamin Caja has joined bmi regional as sales manager, Germany. He will be based in Munich.

Prior to joining Qatar five years ago, Caja had worked with Spanair and Korean Air. Bmi regional chief commercial officer Jochen Schnadt said: "With Munich a key and rapidly growing  hub – not only within the bmi regional network, but also providing worldwide connections through our codeshare partner Lufthansa – Germany is a strategically important market for bmi regional in our current operations and future plans.

"Benjamin’s extensive experience of growing markets and implementing sales initiatives will enhance bmi regional’s standing in this strategically important region."

Caja said: "Discerning travellers in the German market already know bmi regional for its reliability, quality, value and convenience and I am relishing the opportunity to be able to make a significant contribution to bmi regional’s further growth within Germany."
