New Turkish Tourist Office UK director
Sermin Ozduran has been appointed director of the Turkish Culture and Tourism Office in London.
She has been working for the country’s ministry of culture and tourism since 1989, most recently as head of the events and congresses department.
She has been closely involved with UNESCO and its World Heritage Committee, experience a statement said would prove “invaluable” at a time when Turkey is keen to entice visitors away from the coastal resorts and show that it has more to offer than sun, sea and sand.
Ozduran moves to London as Turkey prepares for next month’s World Travel Market where a record numnber of sharing exhibitors will join the culture and tourism office.
She said: “The UK is one of Turkey’s most important markets and I am very much looking forward to the challenges which it holds.”
