New York shows off upstate attractions with virtual tours
Governor Andrew M. Cuomo has announced a series of virtual tours which showcase Upstate New York’s great outdoors.
There are 93 virtual tours offering 360-degree views of State parks, campgrounds, trails, golf courses, beaches and tourist attractions across New York State displaying moving ‘spins’ and still images.
Tours show detailed information and multiple scenes of each attraction, which include Long Island, Niagra Falls and the Adirondacks.
"By offering a glimpse into the great outdoors, we’re providing an important resource for travelers looking to plan the perfect vacation, while also promoting some of the best tourism assets in virtually every corner of the State. I encourage all New Yorkers to check out this online gateway and plan a trip to their favorite in-state destination today," Governor Cuomo said.
Tours featuring campsites display interior and exterior images of lodgings, including rustic cabins, fully equipped cottages and boat-access-only waterfront accommodations.
"Governor Cuomo continues to make important investments to promote camping, fishing and other outdoor recreation activities, which attract tourists and benefit regional economies," said environmental conservation commissioner Joe Martens.
"These virtual tours showcase New York’s beautiful scenery and natural resources, and we encourage people to view the virtual tours to discover the perfect destination for their next outdoor experience."
During the 2014 summer season New York State attracted 36 million visitors to State parks, historic sites and campgrounds.
