Newark Airport security comes under fire
An internal security report, obtained by New Jersey newspaper The Star-Ledger, has found fault with security pat-downs at Newark Liberty International Airport.
The report, by undercover TSA agents, says screeners are only doing standard pat-downs in the correct way about 17% of the time.
It also found screeners in Newark are not taking appropriate action on prohibited items 75% of the time.
Although performance rated as poor in these two categories, other areas such as good listening skills and moving items once found in physical searches are at 100%.
One particulary shocking finding of the study was that in no cases did TSA agents at Newark inform passengers of their right to a pat-down instead of a full body scan.
