EasyJet has followed its expansion to North Africa with nine more routes, including five from Bristol.

The carrier will introduce flights from the south west airport to Krakow, La Rochelle and Toulouse from July 21 and Marseille and Rijeka in Croatia from July 22.

The Krakow and La Rochelle routes will operate four days a week, Marseille and Rijeka three days a week and Toulouse daily.

Other new routes launched by easyJet are a four-times weekly service from Gatwick to Split, starting on May 2, a daily service from Luton to Bordeaux starting June 29, four-times weekly service from Luton to Rimini from June 29 and a weekly Edinburgh to Alicante service from May 20.

Rijeka and La Rochelle are new destinations for easyJet while the others are served from other UK airports.

The Bristol expansion brings the number of destinations served from the airport to 30 and follows the introduction of a ninth aircraft in the south west. EasyJet expects to carry an additional 300,000 passengers from the region, taking the total to almost three million.

Bristol is the largest UK base outside of London, accounting for 10% if its total network.
