Nominations have opened for the British Travel Awards 2019, with five new awards added to the list.

New for this year are awards for Best No-fly Cruise Line, Best Holiday Transfer Company, Best UK Holiday Parks & Lodges Company, Best Assisted/Accessible Holiday Company and Best UK Family Holiday Company.

Awards for Best UK Airport and Best Holiday Company to North Africa have been reinstated.

The winners will be announced at a Gala Dinner in London on Wednesday November 27.

In total there are 83 awards across six travel industry sectors – Package Holidays & Tours, Holiday Planning & Booking Sources, Cruise Lines & Ferries, Airlines & Travel Services, Hotels & Villa Accommodation and UK/Domestic Holiday & Attractions.

Nearly half of the awards will be graded by size – large, medium and small – to recognise the achievements of SMEs.

BTA CEO Lorraine Barnes Burton said: "Travel companies have until 31 May to apply for listing on the 2019 consumer facing voting form. The winners are determined solely by the number of consumer votes cast – last year 334,522 holiday buyers voted for their preferred providers, making the British Travel Awards the largest and most influential of all travel industry awards."
