Norse Atlantic – IndiGo wet-lease agreement adds two more aircraft
Norse Atlantic Airways and India’s largest carrier IndiGo have expanded their wet lease agreement.
Norse and IndiGo parent Interglobe Aviation Limited inked an agreement for two more aircraft.
This completes the scope of six Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners as outlined in a letter of intent signed last year.
This secures additional fixed long-term revenues for Norse Atlantic.
“This agreement represents an important milestone in our collaboration. The wet lease agreement with a total of six aircraft means that we further strengthen our strategic and financial position in a volatile market”, says Bjørn Tore Larsen, CEO of Norse Atlantic Airways.
The additional two aircraft are expected to start operations for IndiGo by early 2026 on long haul routes out of India.
The initial term is for six months, extendable up to 18 months.
The first aircraft under the agreement was delivered in March and is flying IndiGo’s Delhi – Bangkok route.
IndiGo is the largest airline in India by passenger numbers and carried more than 118 million last year.
The wet lease gives the airline options to commence long haul routes to Europe and beyond.
IndiGo has ordered 30 Airbus A350 wide body aircraft which are expected to be delivered starting in 2027.
