Norwegian Breakaway to sail from New Orleans

Norwegian Cruise Line has announced that Norwegian Breakaway will sail out of New Orleans for winter 2018.

The ship, one of the newest and largest in the Norwegian fleet, will reposition from New York at the end of next summer when she returns from a season in the Baltic.

The 4,000-passenger ship will sail to the Caribbean, visiting Cozumel and Costa Maya in Mexico, Ocho Rios in Jamaica, George Town in Grand Cayman, Roatan in Honduras and Harvest Caye in Belize.

Norwegian Gem will sail from New York instead of the Breakaway from winter 2018.

"Norwegian Breakaway will be the largest and newest ship from Norwegian to sail from New Orleans, and we are thrilled to bring our signature Breakaway-class ship to this important homeport," said NCL president and CEO Andy Stuart.

"We want to provide more opportunities for our guests across the country to explore beautiful destinations and enjoy all the spectacular features of our newest ships, along with the freedom and flexibility that only a Norwegian cruise can offer."

Guests already booked onboard Norwegian Gem from New Orleans will have their reservations protected and will be automatically moved to the new ship and itinerary. Norwegian Breakaway’s new Caribbean itineraries from New Orleans will go on sale on October 24.
