Norwegian Cruise Line extends cruise suspensions again
Shares in Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings sunk after its three cruise brands again extended cancellations until at least October.
It previously canceled departures through July 31.
Almost all sailings of Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania, and Regent Seven Seas are suspended until through Sept. 30, 2020, the company said.
NCLH shares plunged 13% in after-hours trading.
"Despite the further delay, we remain optimistic and expect to relaunch cruise operations in the near future," NCLH said.
"Given the fluid and evolving nature of the circumstances, we are making decisions as quickly and thoughtfully as possible and, as always, we are keeping our guests’ and travel partners’ best interests at heart."
The cancellations don’t include the Seattle to Alaska sailings scheduled in September on Norwegian Joy and Norwegian Bliss.
The company hopes to operate these but that remains unlikely due to the cruise ship ban in force in Canada.
Guests booked on the impacted sailings will automatically receive a future cruise credit of 125%.
