Novotel Lakeside Rotorua voted top hotel – twice!

Accor’s Advantage Plus members have voted the Novotel Lakeside Rotorua hotel as the Best New Zealand/Fiji Novotel and Best Dining Experience at a Novotel in the Region.

Advantage Plus is a loyalty programme designed for frequent travelers and diners offering added value and benefits in Accor Hotels throughout Asia Pacific. There are over 180,000 members.

Voting was completed by 15,000 Australasian members who completed the process of choosing their Best Hotel and Best Dining Experience, for each Accor brand, online.

General Manager, Klaus Gottschalk said, “I am extremely proud of the product we offer at the Novotel Lakeside Rotorua”, adding, “The Advantage Plus members are very important to our business and it is fantastic that they rate us as the top Novotel in the region.”  “We have a wonderful team that work hard to ensure that all our guests are looked after and the vote of our Advantage Plus members is testimony to that.”

A trophy was also presented to Mr Gottschalk in Brisbane last week during the Accor Regional General Managers’ Conference.

The name of the hotel has recently changed to Novotel Lakeside Rotorua and a new logo has also been developed, with the name change coming a decade after the hotel opened in Rotorua, when it was the first Accor property in New Zealand, with in recent months the hotel undergoing a full renovation and upgrade.

The Novotel Lakeside Rotorua is fast gaining a reputation as Rotorua’s premier holiday and convention hotel and in May the hotel will be the headquarters for the 2007 Water Ski World Championships and last year was the base for the UCI World Mountain Bike Championships.
