Number One Travel ceases trading
Harrogate-based travel agency Number One Travel has ceased trading with effect from today.
Keith Butterfield, Managing Director of Number One Travel, said he was ‘devastated’ and had been in the travel industry for 37 years.
He said he had three staff at the agency who had been on furlough since lockdown.
Number One Travel was the trading name of travel agent BTY Ltd, which also operated under the additional trading names of Golf 55 International, Independent Travel Advisors, Intersport Holidays and Medjugorje Pilgrimages – selling tours to a small village in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
ABTA said the majority of holidays sold by BTY were sold as an agent for other tour operators. It said customers who booked a package holiday through BTY where the holiday is provided by another tour operator, will need to contact the tour operator on their paperwork or ATOL Certificate for a flight-inclusive package.
Holidaymakers requiring assistance should contact ABTA on 020 3758 8730 or email [email protected].
