Numbers adding up at Doubletree
Doubletree could add nearly 20 hotels this year to its collection of 160 full-service properties, the company says.
“Doubletree is well on its way to accomplishing its goal to increase its current hotel portfolio to 200 full-service hotels throughout North America and Latin America by 2008,” the company said in a statement.
All of the properties that have joined Doubletree this year are conversions from other brands or independently run properties.
“However, the brand is looking equally at both new builds and conversions in the US and Canada as part of its overall growth strategy,” the company said.
Recent Doubletree acquisitions are in cities such as New York, suburban Chicago, Madison (Wisconsin), and suburban Atlanta.
Cities slated for Doubletree openings the rest of the year include Memphis, Washington, DC, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Key Largo and Anaheim.
