NY website looks to end agent ignorance

New York State has launched a UK website as it looks to shed the image that New York City is its only attraction.

Targeted at both travel agents and consumers, www.nylovesu.co.uk, provides information specifically geared for the UK market and focuses on sights and activities across the state.

Stella Photi, European director for New York division of tourism, said few people have any knowledge about what else the state has to offer.

“The site has been created because we recognise that people in the UK know less about the attractions of New York State outside of New York City than their US counterparts,” said Photi.

“The site goes back to basics and provides lots of travel and sightseeing ideas in each region of the state along with useful facts and figures like driving distances from the city.”

The site includes a map, a themed search identifying the best places to play golf, ski and shop and a section on day trips from New York City.
